<content type="html">"There is a great quantity of nominal Christianity today. There is need of more of the real kind. We need revival of the Christianity of Christ. We have, unconciously, lazily, selfishly, formally grown into a discipleship that Jesus Himself would not acknowledge. If our defintion of being a Christian is simply to enjoy the priviledges of worship, be generous at no expense to ourselves, have a good, easy time surrounded by pleasant friends and by comfortable things, live respectably and at the same time avoid the world's great stress of sin because it is too much pain to bear it- if this is our definition of Christianity, surely we are a long way from following the steps of Him who trod the way with groans and tears and sobs of anguish for a lost humanity. Are we ready to make and live a new discipleship? Are we ready to reconsider our definition of a Christian? What is it to be a Christian? It is to imitate Jesus. It is to do as He would do. It is to walk in His steps."</content>

<lj:music>Redneck yacht club is definatly stuck in my head</lj:music>
<content type="html">So it's been a decent day in college football. First and foremost, Florida State won. Also, morbidly overrated Oklahoma lost, along with pretty grossly overrated Tennessee. The ACC is shaping up to be a pretty good conference after all. Mmk random thought time (which I stole from Kara, but everyone else is too): I don't like waking up early, Bobby Bowden is the best football coach ever, The Sermon on the Mount is quite good, school can quite easily take over your life if you let it, stop signs are usually red, sleeping is fun, I definatly spend way too much time on the computer, having people call your cell phone is always good, but if you are not there to answer it and they don't leave a message it kinda isn't, Coldplay is not that great, it takes forever to get your permit, country music is awesome, if you put "tired" as your mood the little guy turns blue, and coffee costs money.</content>

<content type="html">So once again, updating for Kara. This whole journal has really revolved around Kara. But that is okay, because Kara is one cool girl. Anywho, so Katrina did what women will do: take your stuff and run away. And I definatly just now got power. Oh well. Am I the only one who does not like biology?? I dunno. Anywho, okay, random thoughts: no electicity is never fun, I eat entirely too much, if you listen to the music on Nintendo for half an hour straight it gets kind of old, waking up at 5:30 is harder to do than to wake up at 12:30, if you do not have any lights on and it is night, it can get kind of dark, am I allowed to put a comma in between my random thoughts that happen to be seperated by commas?, Kourtney and Alyce have the bestest hair ever, most of the time, bricks are red, having your chimney randomly fall down would be really... peachy? yeah, football (which officially begins tomorrow, both college and NFL!!!!!!!!!!!) is fun to watch, showers feel good, people who still think that the earth is flat are kinda misinformed, the Bible will definatly change your life, banana pudding is usually served with pudding, and everyone who goes to V'dale is the coolest ever. Comment with more random thoughts</content>

<content type="html">Thoughts of the day (usurped from the magnanimous Kara Graves, although I will not do it as faithfully as her): School is not fun, "Bradley" does not begin with a "k," Seattle has a very bad baseball team, 120 comments for one entry is a lot, Stephen White is a really cool person, Galations is an awesome Book, marriage is a pretty big deal, zebras have stripes, Kara Graves makes really awesome bookmarks, if you do not get enough sleep you could be prone to being tired the next day, doing tech crap for three hours straight gets old, and God is cool(er than all of you, I am very sorry)</content>

<lj:music>My little bro playing Scooby Doo? Something</lj:music>
<content type="html">So it is the second day that I have had this and I am updating it again. But, unfortunatly, I have nothing better to do, since I am not in school, so you guys get to listen to me ramble on. Get excited!! Here are some things that God has been showing me lately. 1) Immediatly following the Fall, Genesis 3:7 records that "Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves." I think this is one pattern that we all follow daily. We become aware of the fact that we are dirty, disgraceful, and undesirable, and entirely unfit to enter the Prescence of our Heavenly Father. "All have turned away; they have together become worthless." (Romans 3) So, like Adam and Eve, we attempt to piece together some worthy wardrobe ourselves. The problem is that, as recorded in my oft-quoted verse, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away." (Isaiah 64). In the Parable of the Wedding Banquet (Matthew 22:1-14), God compares His Kingdom to a wedding feast, where the Father invites a group of people (symbolizing Israel) to come. However, they refused, and so the Father invites anyone on the streets that He can find, "both good and bad." (vs. 10) However, when the Father notices among them someone without wedding clothes, He commands for him to be thrown outside to the darkness, "where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Obviously, the "wedding clothes" we need cannot be made by our own righteousness any more than the fig leaves Adam and Eve tried to use. But, in verse 21, God "made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them." The only question that remains is, will we be prideful enough to try to make our own garments from our own righteousness, or will we have faith that they are already prepared for us through the death of Christ?? "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may recieve mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4). 2) I really do not need to say anything more about this quote from The Ragamuffin Gospel (incredible book- I have it if anyone wants to borrow it): "If our faith is going to be criticized, let it be for the right reasons, not because we are too emotional, but because we are not emotional enough; not because our passions are so powerful but because they are so puny; not because we are too affectionate but because we lack a deep, passionate, uncompromising affection for Jesus Christ."</content>
